At Stepping Stones Care, we are looking for a Director of Operations to lead our next phase of growth — embedding quality, consistency and culture across the business.
This is a pivotal, executive role with real reach: overseeing our Regional Managers, driving operational performance, and ensuring that our therapeutic model isn’t just a philosophy - it’s lived out in practice, every day.
We provide trauma-informed, therapeutically-led care rooted in our in-house Model of Care. With our newly launched SSC DNA framework, a clear pathway for growth and development and an organisation full of dedicated practitioners, the foundations are set for our next chapter.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and line managing our Operations Team, Clinical Team and Estates Team
- Driving quality and continuous improvement in all areas of the organisation
- Leading our SLT to align people, culture and care with strategic goals
- Owning accountability for occupancy, staffing, regulatory readiness, and overall business performance
- Building a strong, values-led leadership culture that supports growth and excellence

What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years in multi-home operational leadership within children’s residential care
- Proven track record of improving service quality and compliance
- Deep understanding of trauma-informed practice and therapeutic models (e.g. PACE, DDP)
- Inspirational leadership style - values-led, visible and credible
- Experience managing Responsible Individuals, Registered Managers and Ofsted Homes
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence and willingness to travel regularly
