The appointment will be made on the basis of a part-time secondment to NHS England, alongside existing employment with an NHS Trust in the Midlands geographical footprint.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
Direct management and support of the Heads of Specialty Schools
Direct management of doctors in training with professional standards, complex training and performance issues and support of the Heads of Schools in managing doctors in training experiencing difficulties
Engagement with national workstreams including medical education reform programmes and enhanced generalist capabilities
Support of the Integrated academic training programme
Leading on local delivery of national programmes such as the distribution and expansion programme
The ideal candidate will be an experienced clinician with a thorough understanding of education and training across the region. They will also have strong leadership and communication skills and be able to work effectively as a member of a multi-professional team.
