Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our café operates smoothly and efficiently, providing excellent service to our customers. This position requires a proactive individual who is passionate about food and customer service, with a keen eye for detail.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation of food items, ensuring adherence to food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including dining spaces and kitchen.
- Help serve customers promptly and courteously, taking orders and answering queries about menu items.
- Manage stock levels, assisting with inventory checks and restocking supplies as needed.
- Support the team in maintaining a positive atmosphere within the café, contributing to an enjoyable experience for all patrons.
- Perform basic maths calculations for order processing and till operations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety practices to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively during busy periods.
- Basic maths skills for accurate order processing and cash handling.
- Previous experience in food preparation is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
- A friendly disposition with strong communication skills to engage positively with customers and team members alike.
