Decision Support Manager - 12 month FTCSalary - from £50,240 + annual bonus & benefits Work Level – 2 Location – Edinburgh Office Attendance - Our roles are hybrid; however, you should be able to travel to our Edinburgh, 2 days per week for this position. We’re looking for a Decision Support Manager to join the Commercial Finance Cost team. In this role your primary focus will be to help support the Centres of Expertise (CoE’s) cost base within the Insurance and Money Services business.
Insurance and Money Services is a newly formed business within Tesco Group, with a remit to provide Tesco customers with great products across everyday Finance needs such as Insurance and Travel money. This role will provide a unique opportunity to Finance Partner the CoE’s to support the continued growth ambitions of established products but as part of a newly formed business.
You’ll have exposure to senior stakeholders with a key focus on delivering monthly reporting, forecasting, and informing the financial impact of strategic decision making through insightful analysis and business challenge.
This role will sit within the Cost Decision Support team which forms part of the Commercial Finance team within the Finance function. You’ll have close connections to your financial control colleagues, as well as the broader Commercial Finance teams looking after Money Services and Insurance products, but your day-to-day will be focusing on looking after the cost base within the CoE’s.
This role will best suit someone with ambition to grow and deliver business outcomes. In doing this, the opportunity to move within the Finance function is something that would be encouraged to ensure Tesco IMS nurtures talent and provides ongoing career opportunities.
What you’ll be doing
Production of timely & accurate reporting across all CoE’s at month-end and period-end. Production of timely & accurate forecasts (Rolling Forecast / Long Term Plan / Budget). Providing insight, analysis & financial modelling to support decision making. Consolidation of costs across IMS (CoE and insurance product costs) to give the business more accurate view of costs and assist decision making. Converting Insight and MI into clear financial outputs and challenge the commercial teams and external partners. Investment Appraisal review and challenge, and input into change activity. Provide support with monthly reporting and forecasting associated with exiting rTSA’s to stand up new IMS business.
We need you to have
- Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ICAS)
- Financial planning and forecasting experience.
- Strong commercial awareness and inquisitive mindset, to be able to find and develop insight from the numbers that can be used to influence decisions
- Communicate effectively to build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Adaptable in your ways of working and showing flexibility in order to meet concurrent deadlines.
- Financial reporting and/or management accounting experience.
- Proficient user of MS Excel and PowerPoint.

- Experience in Insurance or Financial Services.
- Experience in a Decision Support or Business Partnering function
- Expert Excel & PowerPoint skills.
- Demonstrable experience of being able to quickly form networks and hit the ground running.
