our current position is for someone who is available to work during the day with the occasional nighttime shift if required.
This would be from 10AM-2PM. Please only apply if you are able to work these times all year round not just subject to school holidays.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Counter Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while assisting with food preparation and maintaining a clean and organised environment. This position requires excellent time management skills, basic maths abilities, and a keen understanding of food safety practices. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately.
- Assist with food preparation tasks in the kitchen, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
- Upsell menu items to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and daily specials to provide informed recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards at all times.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, utilising basic maths skills for calculations.
- Support kitchen staff as needed during busy periods to ensure timely service.
- Keep the counter area tidy and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary environment is preferred but not essential.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy setting.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash and processing orders accurately.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly disposition towards customers.
- Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated when required.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
