We are a fast-growing, independently owned retail business with annual turnover approaching £100 million. As part of our continued growth and to improve governance, efficiency, and legal coordination, we are recruiting a Contracts & Compliance Secretary to support our Directors, HR, and Accounts teams in managing a broad range of legal and compliance matters.
This is a new role and an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Secretary or Legal Administrator to take ownership of legal processes and help shape internal legal coordination
Key Responsibilities
- Contract & Legal Document Management – tracking deadlines, renewal & expirations. Managing contract logs and version control.
- Corporate & Company Secretarial Support – Assist with Director & Shareholder communication, Support with Companies House filings and maintaining statutory record.
- Compliance & Risk Management – Working closely with key departments to assist with the implementation of company policies and procedures. Monitoring compliance with relevant laws and regulation. Assisting with internal & External audits, maintain compliance records (e.g. GDPR, Health & Safety and anti-bribery policies)
- IP & Brand protection – Monitor trademark renewals and liaise with IP solicitors when needed.
- Organise records for domain names, brand registrations, and associated IP assets.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Administrator (in-house or private practice).
- Strong understanding of legal document formats and contract handling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and exceptional organisational ability.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and document management tools.
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience working in a commercial or retail business.
- Familiarity with company secretarial duties or board governance.
- Exposure to employment law or basic HR processes.
Part time: 25-30 hours per week

Pay £35,000-£45,000 FTE
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £21,250.00-£32,725.00 per year
