About the Role
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Officer to join our dedicated NHL compliance team. This role plays a key part in upholding the highest standards of regulatory compliance, with a strong focus on arrears management while supporting all aspects of day-to-day compliance operations. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring our practices align with FCA and other regulatory requirements, while fostering a culture of integrity and professionalism across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor underwriting, collections, and vulnerable customer cases; produce monthly reports for senior leadership
- Conduct monthly file reviews and call monitoring for 1st and 2nd charge lending and arrears cases
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to uphold compliance standards across the Collections Department
- Support complaint handling and fraud investigations for NHL
- Assist with FCA-related requests and ensure completion of annual mandatory compliance assessments
- Maintain and update the NHL vulnerable customer register
- Perform due diligence checks for new and existing brokers
- Review customer satisfaction surveys and provide actionable feedback
- Help maintain staff Training & Competency (T&C) files
- Stay current with regulatory changes (MCD/MCOB) and assist in implementing updates
- Collaborate closely with the Compliance and Oversight Manager and Group Production and Compliance Manager
- Contribute ideas for continuous improvement in compliance processes and customer outcomes
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a compliance role within financial services, ideally with exposure to lending and collections
- Strong understanding of FCA regulations and consumer protection principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively across departments
- Experience with vulnerable customer handling and complaint resolution is a plus
