Salary: £27,319 to £28,031 with progression to £29,588 per annum

The Role
Newcastle University Sustainability Team is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional with a passion for sustainability and the environment. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the team with managing the University's impact on the environment and contribute towards the target of Net Zero Carbon Dioxide Emissions.
Duties include:
- Collecting and maintaining robust energy and environmental data to identify trends in performance
- Producing information for inclusion on the Sustainable Campus website, blog and internal communication channels
- Monitoring and maintaining essential records relating to statutory compliance
This role provides an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team to embed sustainability across a large, complex organisation. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills as well as highly numerate with experience of data collection and analysis.
To provide administrative and practical support to the E&F Sustainability Team. The Team is responsible for all areas of environmental sustainability on the campus, including energy management, waste management, travel planning and biodiversity.
To contribute to the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS) by assisting in the maintenance of procedures and processes to ensure legal compliance, effective day to day management of information and to identify trends within the area of sustainable development which demonstrate continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities
- To support the delivery of a variety of sustainability projects, in areas such as energy saving, waste and recycling and travel, working under the direction of Sustainability Officers and mangers within the team
- To liaise with external service providers on issues relating to service delivery e.g., billing queries, and to provide a point of contact for their representatives - elevating issues arising with the relevant Sustainability Officer
- To carry out furniture surveys and market items for reuse across university platforms
- To provide general administrative support to the Sustainability Team including collecting and maintaining robust energy and environmental data and to identify trends in performance
- To produce information for inclusion on the Sustainability website and social media platforms. Ensuring information is maintained and up to date to enable the regular dissemination of information to staff and students about all aspects of the University’s performance on sustainability related issues
- To support the Sustainability Team in auditing, inspecting and assessment of existing procedures and practices
- To monitor and maintain essential records relating to statutory compliance e.g. Hazardous Waste Registrations, Energy Certificates and F-gas records ensuring these are kept up to date
- To co-ordinate and actively participate in awareness raising/promotional events for staff and students, including producing materials and information for events
- To assist in responding to enquiries relating to all aspects of the work of the Sustainability Team, ensuring that timely and accurate information is provided
- To co-ordinate meetings where required and assist in recording minutes of meetings

- Well-developed IT skills, inlcuding the ability to analyse complex datasets using monitoring and targetting software

Qualifications
- Educated to A level standard (or equivalent) with experience in administation
