Purpose of the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in business administration with a creative focus on marketing. The apprentice will support the smooth running of the Skills Academy’s daily operations, contribute to promotional activity, and help improve our communications with young people, partners, and the wider community. Full training and support will be provided as part of a structured apprenticeship programme.

Key Responsibilities
Business Administration:
· Support general administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, photocopying, and document preparation.
· Answer telephone and email enquiries professionally and promptly.
· Update learner records and booking systems accurately.
· Assist in organising meetings, events, and training sessions.
· Maintain office supplies and equipment stock levels.
· Support the monitoring and reporting of learner attendance and outcomes.
Marketing & Communications:
· Assist in creating content for social media, newsletters, and the organisation’s website.
· Help design flyers, posters, and promotional materials for courses and events.
· Schedule and publish posts across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
· Gather and share learner stories, feedback, and success case studies.
· Monitor social media engagement and support growth of online presence.
· Support with market research and gathering insights from young people and partners.

Person Specification
Essential:
· A keen interest in business administration and marketing.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Willingness to learn, take initiative, and be part of a busy team.
· Basic IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
· Organised, reliable, and able to manage time effectively.
· A positive attitude and commitment to professional development.
Desirable:
· Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
· Creative skills such as photography, video editing, or Canva/graphic design.
· Interest in supporting projects that benefit young people and local communities.

Apprenticeship Training
· You will complete a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship, with dedicated study time and ongoing support from your training provider and workplace mentor.
· Additional training opportunities in marketing, safeguarding, and digital skills may be offered as part of the role.
