About The Role

Accounts Assistant

We’re looking for someone who thrives on getting things done – accurately, on time, and with a positive attitude. This role suits someone who takes pride in their work, keeps their promises, and can think logically to solve problems as they arise.

About the Role

You’ll be part of our busy Finance Transactions team, supporting the smooth running of Accounts Payable, Expenses, and Corporate Cards. It’s a role where attention to detail really matters, but so does being proactive and delivering a reliable service to colleagues.

Day-to-day you will:

  • Process invoices, expenses, and card transactions efficiently and accurately
  • Prepare payment runs and reconcile control accounts
  • Add disbursements to client ledgers and support payroll queries
  • Some analysis of departmental overheads at month end
  • Manage the Accounts Payable inbox and deal with supplier queries
  • Support the Transactions and Payroll manager with admin and some processing
  • Support the Head of Costs with contract admin and ad hoc tasks

All work must be compliant with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules.

About You

About You

We want someone who:

  • Delivers on what they say they’ll do
  • Has a positive, can-do attitude and works well under pressure
  • Communicates clearly and confidently
  • Has excellent attention to detail and can juggle multiple tasks
  • Thinks logically, solves problems, and doesn’t need hand-holding
  • Works well in a team and takes pride in doing things properly

Previous accounts experience would be helpful, but it’s not essential. If you can show us the skills, reliability, and mindset, we’ll provide the training. People with backgrounds in regulated industries (banking, insurance) or customer service often do well in this role.

Hours: Full-time, 9:00–17:00 (we’re not able to consider part-time for this role).

About Us

Benefits of working with us as a Accounts Assistant include:
  • 28 days annual leave (plus public holidays)
  • Bonus scheme
  • Life Assurance
  • Scottish Widows Pension Scheme
  • Healthcare cash-plan
  • 1/3 gym membership contribution
  • Electric vehicle scheme
  • Happy People/Perks at Work benefits portal
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Flu vaccinations
