Hotel Receptionist – The Kings Arms Hotel, Berwick-upon-Tweed

Are you passionate about hospitality and customer service? The Kings Arms Hotel, a bustling 26-bedroom hotel, bar, restaurant, and wedding venue in the heart of historic Berwick-upon-Tweed, is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Hotel Receptionist to join our team!
About the Role:
As the first point of contact for our guests, you'll provide a warm and professional welcome, helping ensure every stay is memorable. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role, perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests upon arrival, assisting with check-in/check-out efficiently
- Handle reservations and inquiries via phone, email, and in person
- Assist guests with local information, bookings, and requests
- Maintain accurate records, including payments and guest information
- Coordinate with housekeeping, bar, and restaurant staff to ensure smooth operations
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming at all times
Shift Patterns:
- Early Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Late Shift: 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM
(Shifts include weekdays, weekends, and occasional holiday cover)
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a front desk or customer-facing role (hospitality experience preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm and positive demeanor, especially during busy periods
- Basic IT skills; knowledge of booking systems (training provided)
- Ability to work well in a busy hotel environment with a bar, restaurant, and wedding events
