Purpose Of the Role:
To support the branch in operating an effective European Inbound and Short Traffic operation in response to customer requests and our network standards in a cost effective and time efficient manner. Responsible for the cost-effective co-ordination and monitoring of deliveries and collections within the Short Distance area and the accurate information inputted for the network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate freight bookings via email, EDI, telephone, and client-specific software.
- Gather and manage data related to UK and European freight bookings.
- Accurately input and update shipment status using the correct difference keys within the supply chain.
- Support the planning and execution of inbound operations, including groupage and special transport requirements.
- Book vehicles and carry out all related administrative tasks in line with Dachser network standards.
- Monitor inbound operations and utilise various Dachser tools effectively (e.g. Domino, Active Report, Vehicle Localisation, Collection Dispo).
- Ensure departmental KPIs are consistently met.
- Manage cost accruals and process purchase invoices accurately.
- Maintain effective communication with departments across the Northampton branch, UK offices, and international network to uphold service levels.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures and maintain high-quality operational standards.
- Respond efficiently to customer enquiries regarding groupage services, providing cost effective and timely solutions.
- Ensure all reporting and documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner, including PODs, CUIFs, and loading/unloading paperwork.
