About the job

Salary: £30,024 - £32,597 a year pro rata
Hours per week: 18 & 14
Contract type: Permanent

We're seeking an individual experienced in working with older people in dedicated care environments. You will often work alone and coordinate with external agencies and caring services to support vulnerable adults

Your role will involve tenancy management, addressing nuisance and antisocial behaviour, and enforcing actions as needed. Additionally, you'll conduct building inspections focusing on health and safety and necessary repairs.

Proficiency in using various software packages, writing concise reports, and effective communication with a diverse range of people is essential. You must manage your time and workload efficiently, using resources effectively.

Engaging with tenants face to face is a critical part of this role and as such homeworking is not applicable to this post.

Please note this role does not attract sponsorship.

About you

You have a strong background in assessing and supporting tenants' needs, with a keen understanding of housing legislation, welfare reform, benefits, and sustaining tenancies. Your experience includes working with diverse cultural groups and recognising their unique needs within a caring context.

You're proficient in communicating with a wide range of individuals, remaining calm under pressure, and handling sensitive situations. Your education includes being a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing or holding equivalent qualifications or experience.

Flexibility, the ability to work as part of a team, and a valid driving license with access to a car for travel across the Borough are crucial. You're also open to ongoing training to meet service requirements.

Join us and make a meaningful impact on the lives of those you support while growing with a dedicated and passionate team.

This is a public facing role so you’ll need to show off your fluency in speaking and writing English

Application Process

Because of the nature of this job, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare all unspent cautions and convictions; and also any adult cautions (simple or conditional), and spent convictions that are not protected as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2020). A person’s criminal record will not in itself prevent a person from being appointed to this post. Applicants will not be refused posts because of offences which are not relevant to, and do not place them at or make them a risk in, the role for which they are applying. However in the event of the employment being taken up, any failure to disclose such offence, as detailed above, will result in dismissal or disciplinary action by the Authority.

On occasions, we may close a vacancy early due to a very high number of applications being received.
