Job Introduction
Access to Housing is a strategic team responsible for a range of programmes and projects that support vulnerable people across the district. These include: homeless and rough sleepers, domestic abuse survivors, asylum seekers and refugees etc.
An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to work on programmes that support homeless, rough sleepers, ex-offenders and vulnerable sections of the district’s population. It will require pro-active working across disciplines and with a wide range of partners, both internal and external including, Adults & Children’s Services, Registered Providers, Supported Housing providers, other local authorities, local and regional partnerships, government departments such as MHCLG and the Home Office, as well as the Third Sector. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to influence and shape services to vulnerable sections of society and to develop and deliver projects and programmes to support disadvantaged sections within the District.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- In depth knowledge of housing and homelessness laws
- Strong expertise in policy/strategy, commissioning/procurement and project management
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and relationship management skills.
- Strong report-writing abilities and adaptability to manage competing priorities in a fast-changing environment.
- Extensive experience in a public sector or similar organisation, specifically in housing role.
- Demonstrable experience within a housing organisation, homelessness and local authority housing service.
Qualifications & Experience:
- An NQF Level 5 qualification (Diploma, Foundation Degree, HND or similar), OR Extensive relevant experience in housing and homelessness relevant to the post.
