Senior Handyperson
35 Hours per week, Monday to Friday, Office and Field Based (across London)
Are you a skilled handyperson who takes pride in helping others live safely and comfortably in their homes? We are seeking a dedicated Senior Handyperson to lead a small team in delivering high-quality, client-focused repairs and small works for older, disabled, and vulnerable residents. You’ll be at the heart of a service designed to support independence, wellbeing, and security for our clients in the London area.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior Handyperson, your role will involve:
- Leading and Supporting a Team – Overseeing a small team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery. You’ll be a resourceful leader, helping your team access what they need to excel.
- Client-Focused Repairs and Maintenance – Carrying out minor repairs, voids, and DIY jobs in clients' homes, ensuring each job is completed to a high standard. You’ll be mindful of privacy and respect for clients’ property.
- Accurate Job Pricing and Financial Accountability – Accurately pricing jobs, handling ordering, and keeping detailed records to ensure compliance with financial processes and procedures.
- Collaborative Work with Stakeholders – Working closely with internal and external partners, referring clients to additional services as needed and ensuring positive client outcomes.
- Promoting Health, Safety, and Safeguarding – Conducting risk assessments and promoting safe practices for both clients and your team, ensuring adherence to safeguarding policies.
What We’re Looking for in Your Application:
We’re particularly looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Extensive Repair and Maintenance Experience – At least 5 years of hands-on experience in general housing repairs.
- Leadership Skills – Proven experience in supervising or managing a small team or apprentices.
- Client-Focused Approach – A track record of working effectively with older, disabled, or vulnerable people, showing empathy and understanding.
- Financial Accuracy and Accountability – Experience with job pricing, ordering, and record-keeping.
- Health and Safety Awareness – Understanding of risk assessment and the implementation of safety measures.
