Are you a skilled handyperson who takes pride in helping others live safely and comfortably in their homes? We are seeking a dedicated Senior Handyperson to lead a small team in delivering high-quality, client-focused repairs and small works for older, disabled, and vulnerable residents. You’ll be at the heart of a service designed to support independence, wellbeing, and security for our clients in the London area.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior Handyperson, your role will involve:

  • Client-Focused Repairs and Maintenance – Carrying out minor repairs, voids, and DIY jobs in clients' homes, ensuring each job is completed to a high standard. You’ll be mindful of privacy and respect for clients’ property.
  • Accurate Job Pricing and Financial Accountability – Accurately pricing jobs, handling ordering, and keeping detailed records to ensure compliance with financial processes and procedures.
  • Collaborative Work with Stakeholders – Working closely with internal and external partners, referring clients to additional services as needed and ensuring positive client outcomes.
  • Promoting Health, Safety, and Safeguarding – Conducting risk assessments and promoting safe practices for both clients and your team, ensuring adherence to safeguarding policies.

What We’re Looking for in Your Application:

We’re particularly looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Extensive Repair and Maintenance Experience – At least 5 years of hands-on experience in general housing repairs.
  • Leadership Skills – Proven experience in supervising or managing a small team or apprentices.
  • Client-Focused Approach – A track record of working effectively with older, disabled, or vulnerable people, showing empathy and understanding.
  • Financial Accuracy and Accountability – Experience with job pricing, ordering, and record-keeping.
  • Health and Safety Awareness – Understanding of risk assessment and the implementation of safety measures.

If you’re motivated to make a difference through your practical skills and leadership, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today to join our team in creating safe, supportive environments for our community members.

Here are just a few of the benefits of working at Peabody:

  • 30 days’ annual holiday, plus bank holidays
