Ready to make a difference as a Residential Support Worker?
We are looking for a Residential Support Worker to join our friendly and dedicated team in an Ofsted-registered 5-bed children’s home for young people aged 8–18 with complex social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
This role is all about making a positive impact on the lives of young people – providing care, guidance, and stability to help them thrive. We value personality and connection as much as experience. If you can build trust, show empathy, and remain resilient under pressure, you could be the perfect fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day care and emotional support to young people.
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage growth and independence.
- Support with education, life skills, and leisure activities.
- Assist with care planning, key working, and risk assessments.
- Promote positive behaviour and a safe, supportive environment.
- Work as part of a team to ensure the home meets Ofsted and safeguarding standards.
Requirements
Essential:
- Experience working with children or young people (in residential care, education, youth work, or similar).
- Understanding of SEMH needs and the impact of trauma.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins.
- Resilience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
Desirable:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
