The University of Strathclyde is currently engaged in a major strategic project to successfully implement a new HR/ Payroll system. Delivery of this system will dramatically enhance the employee lifecycle experience and transform management capabilities, through employee and manager self-service functionality and the provision of real-time reporting, as well as increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of processes within HR, Payroll and Finance.
The successful candidate will provide wide-ranging support to the project team and will work closely with the HR/ Payroll Project Manager. Your main duties will be to provide exceptional administrative and organisational service delivery to a broad range of activities in support of the project; this will involve organising meetings and workshops; coordinating diaries; preparing formal papers for meetings; note-taking and production of formal minutes; and mailbox administration.
You will have relevant experience of working effectively within a busy team environment, in which you will have faced changing and competing demands, and you will have a proven ability to be adaptable and a quick-learner. You will be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and must show that you are fully aware how to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
You will have excellent IT skills including an expert working knowledge of Microsoft Office (with an emphasis on MS Word) and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding and appreciation of the criticality of effective business systems. You should be able and confident to absorb discussion points of a technical nature and to capture these succinctly, in easily digestible terms.
This will be a varied role involving regular communication with senior business stakeholders and senior academic staff, as well as departmental staff and third-party contacts. Therefore, an ability to communicate effectively in a friendly and helpful manner is an essential requirement of the post.
It is imperative that you are able to multi-task and work well under pressure by applying your strong organisational skills. A relevant HNC would be beneficial and evidence of previous administrative support experience is essential. Ideally, you will have an understanding of monitoring budgets, as you will support the Project Manager in keeping track of finances. Experience of working within a project role and/or Higher Education context would be beneficial.
This role has a hybrid working arrangement involving an expectation of a minimum of 3 days per week on-campus.
