Job Description
Universal Production Services seeks an organised and self-motivated individual and team player to join our busy film and television set lighting rental facility, Universal Production Services. The Set Lighting and Rigging Operations Technician is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity to join the growing team at our busy warehouse based in Elstree, Borehamwood.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily duties include but are not limited to;
- Pulling lighting and rigging orders, testing equipment, cleaning equipment.
- Loading and unloading of vehicles and containers by handballing equipment – heavy lifting required.
- Store away and accurately manage any discrepancies from goods in & goods out.
- Work with Senior Operations Technicians and Operations Manager to understand priorities and dispatch deadlines.
- Cleaning and checking lighting equipment as it returns from a production rental.
- Printing equipment job sheets from RTPro software.
- Coordinating with the Account Manager(s) with the day-to-day events that occur when loading and unloading – including short list updates, stock-checks, and proper delegation of sub-rentals.
- Providing and communicating any changes made by the crew and/or production, ensuring that all their needs are met.
- Complete all required paperwork.
- Work with Account Manager(s) to ensure all delivery/pick-up information is correct.
- Ensure all equipment is in good working condition, clean and ready to rent.
- Maintain a productive safe environment.
- General housekeeping of the warehouse.
The comprehension and willingness to go “the extra mile”, work to job completion, finalise all assets & attributes of each day’s work is assumed to be understood for this role.
Qualifications
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Must be physically fit to carry out manual handling (regularly required to move lights, cables and other objects weighing up to 32kg).
- Must be IT literate, comfortable at learning to use our rental software RTPro to process orders and explore stock control.
- Highly motivated, strong ability to multitask, and the ability to flourish in stressful situations.
- Be willing to assist colleagues when time allows to help fulfil orders.
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
- Ability to organise and prioritise the tasks at hand.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a strong sense of urgency.
- Able to organise, prioritise and execute numerous orders in tandem.
- Must always interact with co-workers and clients professionally.
- Knowledge/interest of Film and Television Lighting and Rigging equipment an advantage, but not essential.
- Ability to interact and communicate with front line production crew and colleagues.
- Ability to navigate through complex situations and personalities.
- Strong computer skills: ability to understand multiple operating systems.
- Work as part of a team to ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Team player.
