We have over 400 talented individuals working across our sites in Trowbridge and Frome – including a state-of-the-art laboratory and 78,000 square foot ever-growing manufacturing site!
We are now searching for a positive and pro-active Line Setter Supervisor to join and lead our fast-paced Line Setter Team at our Frome site on a full-time basis.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am-5.30pm (You may be required to shifts as an alternative to these hours when needed.)
Salary: £33,000 - £35,000
Responsibilities
In this key role, you will coordinate and lead the Line Setter team to ensure efficient changeovers and ongoing maintenance of all production line machinery. You will play a vital part in achieving production targets while upholding our high standard in health & safety and product quality.
- Lead and support the Line Setter team to ensure efficient line changeovers, machine maintenance, and alignment with production priorities.
- Attend SIC meetings and delegate tasks; ensure representation in your absence.
- Communicate effectively across departments and escalate technical issues promptly to Engineering.
- Monitor team performance, manage attendance using TAS/ASTROW, and conduct RTWs, absence, and performance reviews.
- Maintain training compliance above 85% by coordinating and delivering necessary training.
- Oversee stock levels of change parts and consumables; raise purchase orders, liaise with suppliers, and book stock upon delivery.
- Prepare all tools, parts, and paperwork in advance for seamless changeovers and maintain accurate setting sheets.
- Lead or assist in full line changeovers, end-of-shift handovers, F.A.T., and fill trials.
- Identify and resolve product quality and machine performance issues, reporting as required.
- Ensure machine safety through checks and carry out PPMs when needed.
- Support continuous improvement projects and proactively monitor and optimise line performance.
- React quickly to breakdowns and escalate issues appropriately.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong understanding of line setting, machine maintenance, and equipment changeovers.
- Excellent communication and team coordination skills.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and the ability to promote a safety-first culture.
- Experience using ASTROW systems (or similar) for managing team attendance and performance.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
