We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Lewisham to assist with the appointment of a Housing Assistant on a 3- Months contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £17.23- £21.94 per hour
Summary:
The Housing Assistant will support the Housing & Communities team by assisting Housing Officers and Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Officers with a wide range of functions. The postholder will be the first point of contact for residents, providing advice, guidance, and assistance on rehousing enquiries and tenancy-related matters.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a professional, knowledgeable, and customer-focused service when responding to resident enquiries, resolving them at the first point of contact wherever possible.
- Maintain accurate records, undertake administrative tasks, and update internal systems in line with council procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Council policies, codes of conduct, and statutory requirements.
- Actively participate in appraisal, performance management, and training opportunities to enhance service delivery.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as required.
Essentials:
- Experience of dealing with customers in a front-facing environment
- Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion and their application in a housing and community services setting
- Experience of maintaining accurate records and undertaking administrative tasks
