The role
- Provide expert leadership and advice on health, safety, and welfare to senior airport management, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Develop and implement a dynamic, risk-based health and safety strategy across the airport.
- Promote a culture of safety ownership and accountability within management teams.
- Enhance safety knowledge through targeted training, especially for supervisors and managers.
- Engage with staff and union representatives to foster a safe and healthy workplace.
- Influence contractors and third parties to align with the airport’s safety standards.
- Lead and support investigations into serious incidents, identifying root causes and preventative actions.
- Contribute to cross-functional projects and initiatives to support continuous improvement.
What will make you successful in the role?
- Prior experience as a Health & Safety Professional in an operational environment and a proven record of accomplishment in the delivery of business objectives and health & safety accredited management systems.
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (Level 6) or equivalent.
- Continuous Personal Development in H&S should be demonstrated
- Effective communication and influencing skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the business.
- Strong ability to analyse information and to determine effective solutions.
- Investigation Techniques
- Prominent level of computer literacy.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise and manage demands.
