Peake Fruit is based in Ardleigh (Near Colchester) and is a World Class Grower, Packer and Supplier of quality fresh fruit, we are looking for an experienced Fork Lift Truck/Warehouse Operative to join our team
This is a vital role, which is responsible for the performance of Peake Fruit’s services, whilst meeting the customer’s required hygiene and operational standards. Endlessly striving for better efficiency, hygiene and best practice to deliver a world-class fruit production facility.
Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Daily check of the Fork Lift Truck for faults or damage
- The movement of the Fork Lift Truck safely
- The correct movement of all produce, to various locations around the site as effectively as possible
- Loading and Unloading deliveries
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the yard and all storage locations
- Keeping up to date of Health and Safety requirements and Fork Lift Truck operating procedures.
- Assisting in the Goods In and Dispatch department as required assisting in creating and the building of orders
- Minimise the waste of fruit and packaging
- Maintain and improve BRC and Food safety hygiene standards across the whole site.
Person Specification:
- Previous experience of using a counter balance truck
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Good communication skills
- Self motivated with a positive attitude
- A team player who has the ability to work unsupervised
- An eye for quality and hygiene
- A proactive attitude towards teamwork and collaboration within a diverse workforce
Fruit growing is 7 days a week and is seasonal in nature so the successful candidate will be required to work flexibly around the needs of the business
