We are looking for a talented and experienced Internal Engagement & Communications Manager to lead employee engagement initiatives across SYNLAB UK & Ireland. This pivotal role will help shape the internal experience of colleagues during a time of significant transformation, including organisational change, TUPE integration, and strategic growth.
The postholder will lead and implement employee engagement initiatives that support organisational transformation, TUPE processes, and reward & recognition campaigns, with a focus on SYNLAB’s operations in Essex and Manchester.
Lead the design and delivery of internal communication and engagement plans aligned with SYNLAB’s five-year strategy.
Support transformation initiatives, including TUPE onboarding of staff in Essex and the expansion of services with The Christie Pathology Partnership in Manchester.
Develop and execute communication strategies around employee reward, recognition, consultation, and engagement activities.
Collaborate with HR, transformation teams, clinical leads, and partner Trusts to ensure consistent, tailored messaging.
Serve as a DEI ambassador and role model for SYNLAB’s values and behaviours.
Deliver high-quality communications content – from executive messaging to intranet articles and campaign assets.
Essential:
Proven experience in internal communications, employee engagement, at manager level or above.
Experience working with HR and senior stakeholders on TUPE, consultation, or workforce transformation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong project and stakeholder management capabilities.
High proficiency in Microsoft 365 (PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
Desirable:
Degree in Communications, Marketing or related field.
Professional membership (e.g. IOIC or CIPR).
Experience in pathology, NHS, or communications consultancy.
Skills in video editing, email platforms (e.g. DotDigital), or intranet launches.
