The Role
We are looking for a skilled and hands-on CNC Setter/Operator to join our production team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be confident in setting up the CNC machine, loading job files, and operating safely and efficiently to meet daily targets. When the CNC is not in use, you will assist with framing and general workshop duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines for production, including tool changes, material positioning, and job file loading
- Operate CNC machines using Mach3 and VCarve Pro software (experience preferred but not necessary)
- Run test cuts and make necessary adjustments to ensure precision
- Cut pre-prepared jobs to meet daily production goals
- Maintain and clean the machine and work area
- Support in learning the CNC job preparation process when the CNC is idle
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures at all times
- Learn the full process of job creation and preparation for CNC
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with CNC setup and operation
- Working knowledge of tool changes, offsets, and machine calibration
- CAD knowledge is desirable
- Comfortable reading drawings or design files
- Practical, detail-focused, and able to work independently
- A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Working Hours
- 3 days per week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
- Workshop hours (9am till 5pm)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.50-£13.50 per hour
