Job Summary: The Medical Coder is responsible for accurately reading, interpreting, and coding clinical documentation in patient records in accordance with current NHS coding standards (e.g., SNOMED CT). Working closely with clinicians and administrative teams, the post-holder ensures the accuracy of coded data used for patient care, chronic disease management, clinical audits, QOF, IIF, and statutory reporting. This is a key role in supporting high-quality clinical data recording, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring that the practice meets its contractual obligations and reporting requirements.
