Job Title: Business Continuity Lead

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Edinburgh or Alderley Park (Wilmslow)


Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based


Overview:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Continuity Lead to join the Resilience Management Office Team at Royal London. Working closely with operational leaders and Business Continuity Champions from across all entities within the business, the Business Continuity Lead will work to own and drive forward the implementation of industry best practice across Royal London Group’s Business Continuity programme.


About the role:


  • Ownership of the Group-wide Business Continuity programme, ensuring all roles conduct activities in line with requirements

  • Implementing the Group Business Continuity framework in line with the Operational Resilience policy

  • Ensuring that all artefacts and documentation are in place and retained appropriately

  • Ensuring that governance packs and documentation are produced and retained in line with expectation

  • Coordinates the planning and testing of workarounds and contingency plans to address exposure to risk and ensure that agreed levels of continuity are maintained

  • Providing guidance to stakeholders required to utilise tools and templates provided by the Resilience Management Office

  • Provide training to new and existing Business Continuity Champions to ensure their knowledge and skills remail up to date.

  • Facilitating and owning a Business Continuity communications plan and strategy

  • Identify and drive improvements to the groups Business Continuity Framework.

  • Supporting on review of third party due diligence questionnaires and attendance at third party site visits, both virtual and physical, and the creation of subsequent site visit reports


About you:


  • A detailed understanding of the Business Continuity practices

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, how our business operates and the legislative/regulatory framework

  • Analytical skills including problem-solving, data skills, and creativity

  • Understanding of service resilience design and execution

  • Expert understanding of Business Continuity Planning

  • Basic understanding of Operational Resilience and IT Disaster Recovery

  • Experience of dealing with process / organisational change

  • AMBCI or MBCI qualified

  • Excellent communication both written and verbal.
