Ready to bring the magic to millions? We're looking for an Animator!

Do you dream in frames? Does the thought of bringing characters and games to life make your pixels tingle? Then you might just be the perfect fit for the Tombola family! We're not just any online bingo site; we're the UK's biggest, and we craft all our amazing games right here in-house. That means we need someone special to make them sing, dance, and generally look fantastic for our lovely players!

We're on the hunt for an Animator to join our super-talented team. This isn't just about making things move; it's about creating those dazzling, memorable moments that make our players smile, cheer, and keep coming back for more. Think dynamic intros, vibrant wins, and everything in between that makes our games feel truly alive!

What you'll be getting up to (a typical day might look like this):

You'll be right at the heart of our game development cycle, working hand-in-hand with our clever R&D folks to understand their vision and sprinkle your animation magic. You’ll be:

  • Brainstorming Brilliance: Feeding back on game designs to ensure they're just perfect for animation.
  • Blueprint Buddies: Teaming up with developers to scope out projects and create awesome asset plans.
  • Crafting the Cool Stuff: Creating those visually rich animations using all sorts of techniques and tools for review.
  • Polish & Perfect: Taking feedback like a champ and refining animations until they're absolutely spot-on.
  • Optimisation whiz: Making sure everything runs smoothly and looks ace on mobile, ready for our players!
  • Team Player: Working closely with the wider game team to build and improve seriously engaging game products.
  • Creative Communicator: Even helping out with snazzy monthly motion graphic videos to keep everyone in the loop on our game studio's latest delights!
  • Juggling Genius: Balancing your workload across multiple exciting projects.

What we're looking for in you (your animation superpowers!):

The Must-Haves:

  • You know your animation principles – think squash and stretch, anticipation, timing… the good stuff!
  • You're comfortable with digital animation software and tools.
  • An iterative approach? That's how we roll! You're happy to refine and improve.
  • You can chat confidently with developers, other animators, and project managers – teamwork makes the dream work!
  • Creating optimised animations for real-time games is your jam.
  • You know how to make assets shine on mobile platforms.
  • You've got a feel for the Tombola brand – we like things fun, friendly, and visually fab!

The Nice-to-Haves (bonus points if you have these!):

  • Dabbled in video editing and production? Brilliant!
  • Got some 3D software skills up your sleeve? Even better!
  • A bit of graphic design knowledge? Handy!
  • Comfortable with the Adobe Suite? Ace!
  • Experience with Spine? You’re speaking our language!
  • An understanding of how developers technically implement animations into games? You’ll fit right in!

Your Tombola Traits (how you like to work):

  • Laser-focused when it counts!
  • An eye for detail that would make a pixel proud.
  • Consistent in your approach – reliability is key.
  • A true collaborator, always happy to work with others.
  • You can articulate your animation ideas clearly and creatively.
  • You're great at giving and receiving feedback – it helps us all grow!
  • Super organised – you'll be balancing lots of exciting projects.
  • You're a master of time management and prioritisation.
  • Able to switch gears and context across different tasks seamlessly.

The Impact You'll Make:

You'll be making a huge difference to our products and player experience! We're talking richer, more interactive visuals that will really wow our users. Plus, you’ll be helping us improve our internal comms with your amazing visual creations. Your mastery of skills will directly influence the level of impact you make – the sky's the limit!

Your Journey to Tombola (previous experience):

Whether you've got a university or college qualification, or you're a super-talented hobbyist with self-taught digital animation knowledge – we want to hear from you!

Long-Term Adventures at Tombola:

This role is just the beginning of your Tombola adventure! You could find yourself:

  • Working on a fantastic variety of products (different games, promos, apps, internal videos).
  • Developing seriously strong design and animation skills.
  • Becoming a true expert in our amazing product portfolio.
  • Honing your stakeholder management skills.
  • Taking ownership over planning decisions – we love initiative!
  • Developing a deep understanding of our players and their user experience.
  • Becoming an expert in our internal systems and products.

And who knows where it could lead? Our animators have exciting career paths, with potential opportunities like:

  • Senior Animator
  • R&D Designer
  • Developer
  • Product Manager
  • Sound Designer
