We have an exciting opportunity to join our Barnsley hospital as an Animal Nursing Assistant, with a pathway to becoming a Student Veterinary Nurse.

As an Animal Nursing Assistant (ANA), you will gain exposure to all areas of the hospital, assisting vets and nurses during consultations, in theatre, and with the care of inpatients.


This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. While in this role, you will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to progress towards a veterinary nursing qualification with Animal Trust.

:

  • Compassionate and caring, with a passion for animal welfare
  • Attention to detail and ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise tasks to manage workload according to the needs of the service
  • Strong communication skills
  • Previous experience in a veterinary environment is advantageous but not necessary

As this role is a pathway to nursing you will also need to hold the below qualifications:


  • Applicants must have achieved at least 5 level 2 qualifications (equivalent to GCSE grades 9 to 4 or A* to C), including English, maths and a science subject
  • The college is unable to accept candidates onto the L3 diploma in Veterinary Nursing unless they have either completed the L2 diploma in Veterinary Care Support or have at least one year of hands-on experience working in a Veterinary practice
  • Passionate about animals - previous experience working with animals is essential
  • Committed and hard-working

Rota:
Monday-Friday 11am-7pm

Hours: 37.5hrs/week
