ABOUT THE ROLE

Overall Objective:

We love branded content at Stylist Studios, and you should too. We are looking for an enthusiastic Art Editor to help us drive forward the creative for our branded content team. We’re searching for a dynamic and digital-savvy candidate who can help us take our content to the next level. The successful applicant will deputise for our Art Director when required, and be responsible in driving forward our digital innovation and offering. In return for bringing your enthusiasm and creativity, you can expect to work with world-renowned brands, contribute to a strong team dynamic and have great cross-function visibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for driving forward the digital creative strategy for the Art team within Stylist Studios. This will involve spearheading new products and functionality, looking for untapped digital opportunities and sharing learnings with the wider Studios team.
  • To design editorial layouts and creative assets, including marketing and digital content. Attending weekly production meetings and presenting work and mock–ups to the department heads.
  • To be a confident voice in brainstorms while representing the Art team when presenting your most engaging, effective and efficient asset treatment for the brief.
  • To deputise for the Art Director when required, which will involve managing workflows for the design team and the impacts on Stylist Studios.
  • To understand the nuances of design across all platforms. Ensuring the development of design team through shared learning and best practice.
  • To originate picture concepts, book photographers, cast models and art direct on shoots on assigned campaigns. Supporting team on shoot direction when they are leading.
  • To brief and supervise illustrators and freelancers when required, building a diverse pool of freelancers with strong working relationships to support the ebb and flow of commercial work.
  • To liaise with repro partners to ensure that all print work look as good as possible.
  • To build and maintain strong relationships with all relevant stakeholders, both within Stylist Studios and with relevant Editorial and Sales counterparts.
  • Delivery of agreed requirements from the in-house team and when working with commissioned suppliers. Ensure the quality is upheld and delivered on time, according to client expectations.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Experience in designing creative, fun and exciting layouts and compositions with a keen eye for detail.
  • Highly organised and enjoys working in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proactive, solution-based attitude. Personable with strong communication skills and ability to forge strong relationships.
  • Represents the company in a professional and appropriate manner when representing the business.
  • Ability to give and receive open and honest feedback – essential in creating a strong team culture and helping elevate standard of the overall team.
  • A professional team player with a positive and can-do attitude and works well under pressure.
  • Necessary software skills: Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects and preferably Canvas Flow.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 35 hours per week. This is a hybrid role, with our team meeting a minimum of one day per week from our London, Fleet Street Office.
