What are we looking for?
Due to our continued growth and further planned expansion we required an enthusiastic, practical & pro-active Trainee / workshop assistant. With the move of the workshop to new premises in central Bedford, this role will be assisting with cleaning and inspection of basic hire equipment while training on inspection and repair of more technical hire items.
You will be assisting with:
- Cleaning and maintaining the presentation of equipment
- Inspecting and testing returned hire equipment (training given)
- Ensuring the THX identification numbers are clearly marked and visible on all items
- Using a computer-based system for administration of the inspections
- Regularly checking, cleaning, and tidying our workshop
- Providing support to our warehouse, workshop and driving teams, as required
Essential requirements:
- An exceptional eye for detail and being able to work accurately at speed, with numbers
- Good computer skills
- Physically fit and hard-working team player
- Self-motivated and prepared to take ownership for their work
- Practical understanding and mindset with the ability to work quickly and methodically
- Willingness to learn
- A can-do attitude with a willingness to help
- Ability to concentrate whilst doing repetitive tasks
- Good time-management
- Ability to work alone whilst also being a genuine team player
You will be required to work Monday to Friday, but with a range of working hours options from 7am to be discussed at interview (40-47.5 hour week)
