Job Description
The UK&I Accounting team are looking to add a motivated and ambitious Team Leader to support the evolving structure of this new combined team. The role will require day-to-day management of members of the team, along with playing an active role in their professional development.
Working primarily as part of the Financial Reporting function to produce monthly management accounts, whilst providing support for the Client Accounts function and wider business, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the culture within the new team dynamic.
The role would suit an individual with good problem-solving skills and an eye for detail. An ability to identify incremental improvements in processes and challenge the existing ways of doing things is considered central to the role.
The successful candidate will be stakeholder focused, confident in their own abilities and committed to providing quality service and support to the operational team at all levels. The role provides significant exposure to accounting routines and controls whilst offering valuable insight into how the broader WSH Group operates.
Key Accountabilities:
- Day-to-day support of members of the UK&I Accounting team (both Client Accounts Assistants and Financial Accountants).
- Preparation of and review of key management information reports for various UK&I brands.
- Support the UK&I Accounting Manager in the production of the monthly reporting pack and associated commentary as required within the Financial Reporting function.
- Active involvement in the trading process undertaken by the Client Accounts function, striving to ensure results are produced accurately whilst ensuring a high level of professional support in query resolution.
- Best practice adoption and incremental process improvement regarding monthly balance sheet reconciliations & reviews using Blackline reconciliation software.
- Maintenance and review of Fixed Asset Registers and accompanying files for UK&I entities within the group.
- Ad hoc support to the UK&I Financial Controller and UK&I Accounting Manager with business acquisitions and systems implementation.
Qualifications
What we want from you:
- Newly qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA or similar) or an experienced part-qualified candidate.
- Proficient Microsoft Excel Skills (Pivot Table, Xlookups, Index Match, Sumifs, etc), as well as strong general IT skills.
- Experience with systems documentation and incremental process improvement.
- Ability to review information and disseminate relevant key pieces to stakeholders as appropriate.
- Excellent communicator with an ability to manage relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
- Strong team spirit mentality and a collaborative ethos with a positive attitude towards embracing change and tackling fresh challenges.
- An inquisitive mindset and an ability to solve problems autonomously.
- A willingness to guide and mentor junior members of the wider team whilst taking responsibility for their own professional development.
- The ability to provide support to various members of staff across multiple finance functions within the support office.

- Salary £35,000 to £45,000 depending on experience
