The Role
We are currently hiring for a tutor based in South Croydon or surrounding areas (e.g., Warlingham, Whyteleafe or Caterham, etc.) to support a Year 2 student with their English attainment.
- Pay: £20 per hour
- Location: CR2 (student’s home)
- Commitment: 1 hour per week
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to make a positive difference through one-to-one tuition.
Essential Requirements
Please read carefully — applicants must meet the following essential criteria:
- Live within 30 minutes of CR2 (e.g., Croydon, Warlingham, Whyteleafe or Caterham etc)
- Experience working with children or young people (teaching assistants, teachers, childcare practitioners or nannies etc.)
- Available for 1h each week on a weekday evening for the sessions.
- Access to a printer — while we provide most materials, tutors are occasionally expected to print resources
- Is comfortable with dogs, as the family has a dog
- Educated to degree level (desirable but not essential)
- Has SEN experience (desirable but not essential)
- Has experience supporting children with 11+ selective school exams (desirable but not essential)
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective 1:1 tutoring sessions in the student’s home
- Build strong rapport and trust with the student
- Adapt your teaching approach to meet individual learning needs
- Track progress and tailor future sessions accordingly
- Inspire confidence and a love of learning in your student
