Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated, experienced and qualified independent tutors to join our network. This is a rewarding opportunity where you can make a positive impact on children's lives by helping them achieve their educational goals through your independent tutoring practice.
Key Responsibilities
GCSE and A Level Tutors wanted.
- Lesson Design and Delivery: Tutors are expected to design and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons, adaptable to individual learner needs. Tutors should integrate fun, interest-based activities to enhance engagement and may alternate between educational activities and more formal learning methods.
- Facilitating Academic Advancement: Tutors will guide learners in addressing learning gaps and developing essential skills and confidence, preparing them for more formal learning as appropriate.
- Resource Development and Adaptation: Tutors are responsible for adapting or developing their own educational resources to meet the unique requirements of each learner.
- Promoting Engagement and Self-Regulation: Tutors should possess the skills to support learners in developing engagement and self-regulation techniques within sessions, aiding in the generalization of these skills to other contexts.
- Fostering Learning Skills: Tutors are expected to assist learners in enhancing their learning skills in a personalised manner, supporting the generalization of these skills.
- Record Keeping for Client Communication: Tutors will maintain their own records of lesson plans and student achievements, and provide reports on engagement and progress to parents at the end of each term.
- Professional Stakeholder Communication: Tutors will communicate professionally with parents and other relevant professionals to ensure comprehensive educational support for the learner.
Tutoring Opportunities: Opportunities are available for GCSE Maths, English, or Science tutors to deliver sessions to pupils, typically in small groups or on a 1-1 basis (e.g., 60-minute sessions) in person or online. MUST have experience teaching GCSE students and planning lesson with resources.
Work Hours -
The centre will be open on Sat- Sun - 10am-3pm. Remote work can be flexible.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to students
- Develop personalized lesson plans based on students' needs and learning styles
- Assist students with homework assignments and test preparation
- Teach study skills and effective learning strategies
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure students' academic success
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special education needs
Experience:
- Previous experience in tutoring or teaching is essential.
- Experience working with children or adolescents is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to establish rapport with students and create a positive learning environment
- Tutors need to be well versed in teaching 11+.
