Tennis Systems Operator

Hawk-Eye Innovations
City of London, England
Full time

Location: UK-based with regular global travel around the world to Tennis events

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £26,990

Travel: Extensive global travel to Tennis events (travel, accommodation and daily living allowance expenses during events paid by Hawk-Eye)

Expected Start Date: August 2025

Why Hawk-Eye & Why Tennis?

Join us at Hawk-Eye and be part of an exhilarating journey through the world of sports events. Our operations teams play a crucial role in delivering high-quality experiences at major sporting events worldwide. These are the different areas that you can explore:

  • Technical: Testing, improving and stress testing our systems to enhance the performance of our delivery across the tours.

  • Creative: Working closely with TV directors and external broadcasters to provide statistics and storytelling of insights across tennis matches during live broadcasts.

  • Operations: Reviewing, improving and strategising how we improve the efficiency of delivery across the globe

  • Projects: On-site management of our service delivery across the globe. Liaising with external stakeholders to organise our technical requirements to be ready and sites to be prepared for our arrival, and to deliver our services to the deadline of the events

  • Broadcast Production: Rigging and directing live TV broadcasts across the Masters 1000s ATP tour

You will be exposed to each of the areas above and find the discipline that works best for you. As you specialise throughout your time in the Tennis department, there is the option to join a more project-focused team and workflow where you can spend more time in an office-based capacity. However, this does not diminish your opportunity to occasionally travel to some of the world's biggest Tennis events.

  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including broadcasters and TV directors, for creative impact

  • Liaising with match officials, tournament third parties, organisers, and officials to ensure all contractual obligations are seamlessly fulfilled upon our arrival.

  • Monitoring and Operation of the Hawk-Eye ball-tracking and broadcast systems during every game.

  • Assisting with our 'SMART Production' broadcast delivery at tennis events throughout the year.

  • Providing quick resolutions for any technical issues

  • Contribute to the research and development of new projects

  • Maintenance of the kit and equipment needed to operate the system

Whilst there are glamorous locations where Grand Slams are held, there are also some locations that you may not have anticipated that you will be expected to travel to. Please take a look at the following link, which shows you some of the locations you could be expected to travel to: https://www.atptour.com/en/tournaments

Working & Living in Different Time Zones: This role is tour-based, which means you will be spending time away from family and friends, where social events could be missed. Working in different time zones can also impact communication.

High-Pressure Situations: Working in a live broadcast environment on a production that is distributed to millions worldwide will bring high levels of pressure.

We will do our best to train and equip you to the best possible level to help with these, but they must be considered before submitting your application.
