Tenancy Investment Officer
Location: Hesters Way Resource Centre, Cheltenham
Salary: £34,314 - £37,035
Hours: 37 per week
Are you passionate about empowering individuals and families to overcome life’s challenges and sustain their tenancies? Do you thrive in a role where you can make a real difference by reducing vulnerability and preventing tenancy failure?
At Cheltenham Borough Council (CBC), we’re looking for a Tenancy Investment Officer to provide person-centred, trauma-informed support that enables people to build resilience, engage positively in their community, and develop coping strategies.
What You’ll Be Doing
Acting as a trusted lead professional, offering solution-focused and non-judgmental support to those facing complex challenges.
Delivering early intervention strategies to prevent tenancy crises, working collaboratively with social care, mental health services, schools, and specialist support providers.
Using your expertise in restorative practice and behavioural change to build supportive relationships that enable positive life outcomes.
Ensuring individuals and families can access community projects, volunteering opportunities, and work placements to become active, engaged members of society.
Supporting Gloucestershire’s Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) process, ensuring that appropriate actions are taken to safeguard individuals.
What We’re Looking For
A deep understanding of ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and trauma-informed approaches to supporting vulnerable people.
Experience working with children, young people, families, and communities to create sustainable interventions.
Strong partnership-building skills, working collaboratively with various agencies to deliver holistic support.
Emotional resilience, empathy, and the ability to build trust and rapport with individuals in challenging situations.
A working knowledge of safeguarding policies and best practices in social housing and tenancy support.
A vehicle available for work (essential).
Why Join Us?
Be at the forefront of positive change, helping individuals and families thrive, not just survive.
Work within a dedicated, compassionate team focused on prevention rather than crisis intervention.
Competitive salary and career development opportunities in a role where every day brings new challenges and rewards.
Ready to make an impact? Apply today and be part of the movement to create stronger, more resilient communities.
