Contract: Full-Time Salary: £13.24 – £13.44 per hour | £19.86 per hour (Bank Holidays)

About Us
Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall delivers high-quality support to children and young people with additional needs, helping them live fulfilling lives in their own homes and communities. Our Children’s Services team supports a range of complex needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and physical or sensory challenges.
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Team Leader to help guide and support a team of dedicated support workers across Mid & West Cornwall.
About the Role
As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of person-centred support are delivered to children and young people. You will lead a team of support workers, working closely with the Area Manager and families to ensure consistent, safe, and empowering support.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, mentor, and lead support workers across children’s services
Promote independence, communication, and meaningful activities
Support the development and delivery of individualised care and support plans
Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and reporting requirements
Manage staff rotas and respond flexibly to changing needs
Liaise with families, professionals, and other stakeholders
Act as a role model for best practice and professionalism
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Experience in a support role within health or social care (children’s experience preferred)
NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards)
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Willingness to work flexibly across days, evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays
Ability to provide personal care and sleep-in support when required
Confident communicator and effective team leader
Desirable:
Experience leading support teams
Knowledge of supporting children with autism, complex needs, or behaviours that challenge
Experience with rota coordination and care planning
