Your duties

You will:

  • Enhance teaching quality through coaching, lesson observations, and support for active learning strategies.
  • Provide staff development via one-to-one mentoring, CPD sessions, and peer observation programmes.
  • Promote innovation by integrating digital tools, blended learning, and modern pedagogical approaches.
  • Support quality assurance through monitoring, compliance checks, and contributions to improvement plans.
  • Deliver training by designing and leading CPD workshops, teacher training, and cross-college events.

Person specification

The successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:

  • Degree and relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, QTLS, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in teaching, coaching, or mentoring within Further or Higher Education.
  • Strong understanding of student engagement, differentiation, and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Excellent IT skills including good working knowledge of databases, excel and word.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work collaboratively with staff across all departments.
