Here at Yorkshire Housing, we believe that everyone deserves a safe, affordable home—and that those homes should be part of a greener, fairer future. That’s why we’re putting sustainability at the heart of everything we do. And we’re looking for someone who’s just as passionate as we are to help lead the way.
This isn’t just a job. It’s a chance to shape how housing can respond to the climate emergency. To work with communities across Yorkshire. To influence how we build, manage and live in homes and to be part of a team that’s serious about making a difference.
If you’re someone who gets excited about energy efficiency, biodiversity, community cohesion and climate action—and you want to turn that passion into real-world impact—then we’d love to hear from you.
As our new Sustainability Coordinator, you’ll be a key player in delivering our ambitious sustainability strategy. You’ll work across the business to embed sustainable thinking into everyday decisions, making sure we’re not just meeting our goals—but leading the way.
What you’ll be doing
- Help us reach net zero by supporting decarbonisation projects and improving the energy performance of our homes
- Work with customers, colleagues and communities to make sustainability something everyone can get involved in
- Lead working groups, support funded projects and help shape how we invest in sustainability now and in the future
- Build strong partnerships with local authorities, environmental groups and other organisations across Yorkshire
- Keep us ahead of the curve on legal and regulatory changes, and make sure we’re always doing the right thing
- Champion biodiversity, community cohesion and climate resilience across our housing portfolio
You’ll also help us tell our story sharing progress, celebrating success, and showing how we’re making a difference. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, we’d love to hear from you and let’s build a better future—together.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who’s not just experienced—but energised by the idea of creating change.
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have a background in sustainability—especially in the housing sector
- Understand the challenges and opportunities of decarbonising homes and communities
- Are a confident communicator who can bring people together and inspire action
- Know how to turn data into insight, and insight into action
- Can juggle multiple projects and keep things moving forward
- Are passionate about sustainability, but understand the importance of collaboration and balance
It’s a bonus if you’ve worked on grant funding, led projects, or have professional memberships like ISEP or CIH. But more than anything, we’re looking for someone who cares deeply about the work and wants to make a difference. Check out the attached Role Profile for a detailed look at the role and requirements

You’ll be joining a team that’s passionate about sustainability and serious about impact. We offer flexible working through our Hub, Home and Roam approach, and we’re committed to supporting your growth and development. This is your chance to be part of something bigger. To help shape the future of housing in Yorkshire. And to do work that really matters.
