Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Worker to provide essential support to individuals with autism. Duties
- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, ensuring the comfort and dignity of individuals.
- Administer medication as prescribed, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Support individuals in developing social skills and engaging in community activities.
- Assist with case management, including documentation of progress and communication with family members and other professionals.
- Implement behaviour management strategies as directed by care plans.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Drive individuals to appointments or community outings as required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive care.
Skills
- Proficiency in medication administration and understanding of medical terminology.
- Experience in senior care, assisted living, or hospice care settings is advantageous.
- Strong case management skills, with the ability to document effectively and communicate clearly.
- Knowledge of first aid practices is essential for ensuring safety.
- A compassionate approach to care, demonstrating empathy and patience.
- Ability to drive is preferred for facilitating transportation needs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building rapport with individuals and their families.
