Mentor / Support Worker
We are seeking committed, motivated, and resilient Mentor / Support Workers who are passionate about supporting young people aged 16 - 20. These young people may be transitioning from residential or foster care, experiencing homelessness, or unaccompanied asylum-seeking children. Our homes are based in Worcester / Worcestershire.

Your Role
As a Mentor, you will work closely with young people, actively promoting independence and preparing them for adulthood. You will collaborate with internal and external professionals to ensure young people receive comprehensive wraparound support while being treated equally, as individuals, and without discrimination.
If you have excellent written and verbal communication skills, are resilient and committed to mentoring, and can act as a positive role model for young people and colleagues, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
✔ De-escalate situations and provide emotional support to young people.
✔ Work collaboratively with the multi-agency team supporting the young person.
✔ Ensure living accommodation is well-maintained, overseeing regular cleaning and maintenance activities.
✔ Perform routine checks of the accommodation.
✔ Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including key work sessions, risk assessments, support plans, and incidents.
✔ Prepare regular reports for management and other professionals.
✔ Advocate for the rights and interests of young people within the organisation and their community.
✔ Attend meetings with wider professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
✔ Address health and safety concerns confidently and effectively.
✔ Stay up to date with current legislation and training requirements.
✔ Be willing to travel to meet service needs, holding a full driving licence and access to a car.
✔ Demonstrate resilience when working under pressure, including in emotionally challenging situations.
✔ Be a team player, while also having the ability to work independently.
Experience & Qualifications
· Level 3/4 in Health & Social Care (Desired)
· Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience (Desired)
· Full, valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle with (business insurance) (Required)
· Minimum age requirement of 21 years (Required)
· Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the update service (Desired)
Additional Information
RUP adheres to a safer recruitment policy. If successful, all candidates will undergo pre-employment checks. Candidates will be required to cover the cost of right-to-work checks, ID checks, and DBS applications (where applicable). This charge is a maximum of £74.70, which will be refunded after induction completion.
