Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Worker to join our street based team working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 17:45-19:45hrs. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting and mentoring young people, fostering their personal development, and helping them navigate challenges. This position requires a strong commitment to youth work, with an emphasis on education and special needs support.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and mentorship to young individuals, encouraging their personal growth and self-esteem.
- Engage with youth in various activities that promote social skills, teamwork, and emotional well-being.
- Assist in managing behavioural issues by employing effective strategies that promote positive behaviour.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress for each individual under your care.
- Facilitate workshops or group sessions aimed at educating youth on important life skills.
Qualifications
- Previous experience of at least one year working with children or in youth work is essential.
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to inspire and motivate young people.
- Knowledge of special education practices is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with youth and their families.
- A patient, empathetic approach with a genuine passion for supporting young individuals in their development.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated when required.
