This is an exciting opportunity to join our creative policy team where we develop and implement polices that make a real difference to the lives of our residents. You will join us as we embed and deliver our new EDI ambitions centred around our focus of inclusivity and establishing Brent as a leader in this area. You will contribute to the delivery and development of our equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) ambitions which are central to the Council’s strategic objectives.
As the Strategy Lead – Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, you will be part of a small team who work with a wide range of both internal and external stakeholders, to drive our EDI ambitions. You will lead and develop EDI initiatives and projects and advise the organisation around its EDI responsibilities, grounded in your knowledge of best practice.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion and will act as an ambassador both within the Council and across the partnership landscape. You will be able to clearly articulate our ambitions while providing sound advice and guidance.
You will have a delivery and outcomes-centred mindset, coupled with the ability to involve and bring stakeholders along on a journey. This means you can build and maintain strong relationships, both internally and externally.
This role requires someone who is a good communicator, confident to work independently and has the ability to follow things through and use initiative. You will have previous demonstrable experience of delivering impactful initiatives and driving positive change. Whilst we are proud of all the good work we have undertaken to date; we know we still have a long way to go.
