About The Role
Forest Green Kitchen is a small team of conscientious, hard-working makers of healthy vegan foods served in schools, hospitals and visitor attractions across the UK.
The Stock Controller role is on site each day - a lynchpin between our operations and production teams.
We are looking for someone to maintain our site in exemplary condition: storing all raw materials and finished goods safely, hygienically, and in an organised manner, to ensure we maintain our BRCGS AA accreditation for Food Quality and Safety.
It is a physical role, involving regular outdoor work, forklifting, some heavy lifting and the cleaning of our production equipment. It requires a strong attention to detail needed for accurate completion of paperwork, with clear handwriting and good numeracy, to ensure the safety and quality of our foods.
- Receiving all deliveries and shipping finished goods- fork lifting required. Ensuring goods are received in good condition and stored appropriately, and the loading of outgoing stock
- Picking all raw materials, pallets and PPE supplies for each day’s production, minimising waste by enforcing FEFO (first-expired, first-out) and other stock rotation methods.
- Printing off all daily labels needed and other production paperwork, double checking paperwork on a daily basis to ensure mass balance traceability of raw materials used.
- Other production flow support- for example, helping to make up boxes for production.
- Stock Control - Implementing and enforcing stock control procedures, conducting regular stock counts, and reconciling discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
- Storage and Organisation – Ensuring all products and ingredients are stored safely, hygienically and in an organised manner, adhering to food safety regulations. Ensure site tidiness.
- Food Safety and Hygiene - Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene in all stock handling processes, including storage, handling and preparation.
- Compliance - Ensuring compliance with all relevant Health and Safety regulations, food safety standards and company policies.
- Collaboration - To ensure smooth supply chain operations
- Event support – Prep equipment lists for industry/customer events and maintain inventory for this on site.
Occasional support in other areas – as we are a small business, there may be occasions when we need to support in production:
- Preparation of mixes (weighing, sorting ingredients)
- Forming of vegan products
- Packing of vegan products
- Hygiene operations (equipment cleaning, waste management, facility cleaning)
