29.6 Hours Fixed Term until 31st August 2026
We are looking to recruit an SLT with advanced knowledge of the highly complex dysphagia and communication difficulties associated with an acute and critical care caseload. Experience of tracheostomy care, instrumental dysphagia assessment and complex communication assessment and management is required. Education and training staff and students, including SLT, other AHPs, nursing and medical is integral to the role.
This role includes team lead responsibility for the team of SLTs providing acute care within Ninewells Hospital. Collaborative working as part of the wider SLT team is expected with regard to audit, service development, quality improvement, innovation and strategic involvement. Peer support, clinical supervision, appraisal and professional development are embedded in our practice. We provide separate line management and clinical supervision to ensure strong clinical performance with an emphasis on staff wellbeing. You must be HCPC registered.
The Adult Acquired SLT Service is a Tayside wide service and has regular local and regional meetings. Ninewells Hospital, Dundee is a busy teaching hospital with over 900 beds, serving the population of Tayside and North East Fife.
Dundee, known as the City of Discovery, has a fantastic riverside location featuring the V&A museum. It has great transport links to the rest of Tayside as well as St Andrews, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. It is with a 20 mile radius of award-winning beaches, hills and countryside
