We are seeking a Specialty Administrator and Personal Assistant to join our friendly and supportive Ophthalmology Team at Yeovil District Hospital. We are looking for someone who can work both independently and as part of a team, takes initiative and is committed to delivering excellent care to our patients.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
Provide and receive complex/sensitive information with patients, colleagues, internal and external contacts in a courteous, professional and timely manner through various methods of communication i.e. telephone, written, face to face.
Manage and prioritise own work efficiently and effectively, working within the administrative team to ensure Trust targets for all administrative duties are met, highlighting any issues to the Administrative Team Leader. Liaise with other administrative team members to ensure fair distribution of workload.
Compile agendas, type and circulate minutes for Specialty Business and Audit Meetings. Take and transcribe minutes where necessary. Arrange meetings and manage diaries where necessary.
Monitor and ensure the timely arrival of patient information to the appropriate destination to facilitate prompt patient care, highlighting potential problems or RTT breaches to the Administrative Team Leader.

Essential
Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English Language and Maths or functional skills
Level 3 qualifications or equivalent level of experience
Desirable
RSA/OCR III or equivalent typing/word processing including audio typing

Minimum 1 year office experience within the last 5 years
