Specialist Mentor
An exciting opportunity has become available to join the well-established Wellbeing and Mental Health team in Student Services as a Specialist Mentor, working 20-hours per week. The role focuses on helping disabled students to develop their own strategies to live and study independently.
Successful candidates will already have significant experience in an advice and guidance role, having managed a caseload in a timely and efficient manner.
We require an undergraduate degree, experience of working with disabled people, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, along with an ability to work in a pressured environment to meet tight deadlines.
A good working knowledge of strategies for students with ADHD, Autism and Mental Health Difficulties is essential. Emotional resilience is key whilst utilising support effectively and practicing good self-care.
You’ll not only be welcomed into a supportive and knowledgeable team, you will also be working closely with other teams within our Student Services Department, such as Disability and Inclusion, with the aim to strengthen the support for our students and improve the student experience.
