We are looking for an animal loving person to join our cats and rabbits team.
You will work 5 days a week.
You will have Mondays and Tuesdays off.
Hours are 8am to 5pm* - 1 hour for lunch.
You will be paid £12.71 per hour,** for 8 hours a day,
This is equivalent to £22,713 pa. (gross)
* Work finishes 30 minutes early in winter time and lunch hour is reduced to 30 minutes.
This is a great opportunity to work with animals in an animal rescue environment.
OAS cares for and rehomes between 500 to 700 animals a year.
You will be responsible for looking after the daily welfare of cats and rabbits. You will normally work with only one species per day, depending on the work rota.
Duties include cleaning rooms and enclosures, feeding, medicating and enrichment. You will also assist in rabbit bonding and will meet potential adopters.
You will need to be comfortable around cats and rabbits and have no allergies to working with animals.
You must be competent at taking instructions and performing tasks set for you in a timely and efficient manner.
This is a physically demanding job. You will be doing lots of manual work and you will be on your feet for most of the day and must be comfortable working outside, in all kinds of weather (if working with rabbits).
You must have good communication skills and be able to speak to colleagues, visiting professionals and members of the public in a polite manner.
You must be hard-working, enthusiastic, have lots of energy and be a team player.

Please note that you will need to be available to work during Christmas time. This includes half days on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. Staff are paid overtime for this.
