Working location: Based out of Horton but including all McAllister site locations.
Role Purpose:
Site Supervisors ensure the safe and timely completion of construction works for individual projects. They oversee everyone working on the site which includes team members, sub-contractors and visitors.
Site Supervisors are responsible for making sure each individual has the necessary resources to complete their tasks and to monitor and ensure they perform their duties effectively and in compliance with company health & safety requirements and legislation.
It is the Operations teams responsibility when assigning Site Supervisors to projects, who their Project Manager will be. This role will then explain the projects delivery structure and day to day requirements. If this is not made clear, the Site Supervisor must seek clarification from their line manager, the Site Safety Manager.
Responsibilities and Focus:
- Managing site team and delegating tasks suitable to their roles.
- Support and manage site teams with their tasks to meet deadlines.
- Keep project manager informed of job status, any problems, complaints or safety issues.
- Where required consult with customer on site arrangements if access to property is required.
- Carry out and complete Daily Shift Report.
- Carry out Pre-Start Risk Assessment, pre-use equipment checks and brief to the site team on all works.
- Ensure pre-start to works all site team comply with health and safety practises including the correct PPE.
- Make sure the drivers on site inspect vehicles daily and report any problems to the Fleet Manager.
- Ensure compliance to any permit to work arrangements.
- In the event of an incident the escalation matrix must be followed to ensure full information is collated.
- Access the Group Management System to locate documentation required for site.
- Champion campaigns on site and deliver TBT and Lessons Learnt.
- Cooperate with the business and uphold the McAllister high Health and Safety Standards.
- Take the upmost pride in the teams’ workmanship, safety and environmental awareness.
- Lead the way and empower your teams to ‘Stop in the event of change’, challenge any unsafe working methods or behaviours and raise any unsafe observations to the HSQE Manager or Project Manager.
Essential Criteria / Minimum Experience and Training
- 2 years’ experience working as a Site Supervisor, or equivalent, in drainage / construction / civils / utilities industry.
- Hold a current driving licence.
- Hold SMSTS or IOSH Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field.
- CSCS Card.
Desirable Criteria / Minimum Experience and Training
- Confined Space training.
- Street works Supervisor Unit 10.
