We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join our friendly team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. As a Shop Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining the shop's appearance, assisting customers with their needs, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the store. This position requires excellent money handling and communication skills.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the shop.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the shop floor and stock areas.
- Restock shelves and ensure products are date rotated.
- Process transactions accurately at the till and handle cash responsibly.
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide information about products and services.
- Assist in inventory management by conducting stock checks and reporting discrepancies.
- POST OFFICE LIMITED WILL REQUIRE A CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK AND A CREDIT REFERENCE CHECK
Skills
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to work alone being self motivated.
- Excellent organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Customer-focused attitude with a passion for providing outstanding service.
- Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions and stock management tasks.
- Lottery and News experience would be an advantage
